PVC pipes (classified into PVC-U, PVC-M, and PVC-O types), also known as rigid polyvinyl chloride pipes, are extruded by hot pressing after blending polyvinyl chloride (PVC) resin with stabilizers, lubricants, and other additives. They are among the earliest developed and applied plastic pipe materials.
PVC-U pipes offer excellent corrosion resistance, easy adhesion, cost-effectiveness, and high rigidity. However, due to the potential leaching of PVC monomers and additives, they are only suitable for water supply systems conveying fluids with a maximum temperature of 45℃. Plastic pipes are widely used in drainage, wastewater, chemicals, heating and cooling fluids, food, ultrapure liquids, slurry, gas, compressed air, and vacuum systems.
China's plastic pipe production capacity reaches 3 million tons, mainly covering three major categories: PVC, PE, and PP-R pipes. Among them, PVC pipes hold the largest market share, accounting for nearly 70% of the total plastic pipe market.
